Managed Services Help Enterprises Focus on Strategic Business Goals
Dubai Outsource Zone partners at ‘Managed Services Growth Markets’ conference
Dubai,United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, April 11th 2012 [ME NewsWire]
Managed services enable enterprises to realign their IT functions and focus on their primary business goals for accruing long term strategic and financial benefits, according to Ammar Al Malik, Director - Operations at Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ).
He added: “Businesses today are looking to focus on their key operations by working with IT service providers that offer expertise and align IT with the corporate mission of the company. In the past few years, many companies are turning their attention to operational expenses rather than investing in upfront capital. At DOZ, we have seen end-users considering this model. We are also receiving interest from managed service providers to set up offices and data centres at the free zone.”
Al Malik’s comments came ahead of Dubai Outsource Zone’s participation at the Managed Services Growth Markets conference that will be held from 16- 17 April at the Royal Mirage in Dubai. The event is organised by Informa Telecoms and Media, leading provider of business information and services.
According to a report developed by Frost & Sullivan and commissioned by Dubai Outsource Zone, the regional outsourcing market is expected to be worth US$1.08 billion by the end of 2016. This growth can be traced to the provision of services such as IT support and infrastructure outsourcing, the first services that businesses sought to commission. The expense of hiring and retaining skilled IT staff and the subsequent negative impact of focusing on activities that were not core to the business of the organization were primary reasons that impacted the shift.
The Managed Services Growth Markets conference will feature panel discussions and bring together experts from the sector to deliberate on challenges in managed service environments. It will examine outsourcing lessons from various verticals and ways to take the business forward with the support of managed services. In addition to probing the industry outlook for managed services and new trends in the sector, the event will highlight opportunities for telecom operators in the cloud, economics of managed service, and the concept of green outsourcing.
DOZ provides comprehensive purpose-built infrastructure to both captive and non-captive companies looking to set up in the region. It also facilitates business partners to control costs and gain efficiencies through leveraging talent, technology and expertise in the UAE.
DOZ currently hosts a number of companies in diverse sectors such as banking and finance, accounting, IT, payroll processing, engineering, research and development as well as design. Current companies operating in DOZ include Emirates airline, AXA Insurance, du, Mashreq Bank, Arab Bank, First Data, Cupola, Larsen & Toubro, Infotech Ltd, Al Futtaim Willis, and the Jumeirah Group.
