Nordson EFD Dispensing Components Made in Silicone-free Environments

Independent testing confirms Rhode Island and New Jersey facilities silicone–free

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Monday, April 9th 2012 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Nordson EFD, a division of Nordson Corporation(Nasdaq: NDSN) is pleased to announce that once again, testing by two independent laboratories confirms no traces of silicone in the manufacturing environments where their dispensing components are produced. Testing was performed by OccuHealth, Inc. of Mansfield, Massachusetts, and Covino Environmental Associates, Inc. of Woburn, Massachusetts.

Silicone contamination can cause problems in critical adhesive bonding processes, such as microelectronics, because it can interfere with bonding and result in intermittent failures that compromise the performance and reliability of the end product.

Nordson EFD was the first dispenser manufacturer to recognize the potential problems associated with silicone, and has never used mold release agents in any of their injection molding processes. According to plant manager Danny Crane, “We feel our silicone-free manufacturing approach results in single-component and 2K products that deliver greater performance and reliability to our customers. We monitor and control every step of the process, which accounts for the unmatched quality and consistency.”

Nordson EFD designs and manufactures precision fluid dispensing systemsfor benchtop assembly processes and automated assembly lines.
