Natto takes Team Snickers-Hyundai Team to Red Bull Car Park Drift finals Again

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia - Wednesday, April 11th 2012 [ME NewsWire]

For the second consecutive year, Hatim Natto drove Snickers-Hyundai Racing Team to victory in the Saudi Arabia qualifying round of the Red Bull Car Park Drift Championship.

The first round win at Al-Malaz Stadium in Riyadh in the third season of the championship makes Natto the first Saudi to qualify twice for the summer final round in Beirut, Lebanon.

Natto ‘drifted’ to victory in a Hyundai Genesis Coupe model 2011, powered with a 6-cylinder 3.8 liter with fully tuned engine.

"I thank God for this win just like last year!,” said elated Natto. “I hope to post a prime position in the finals in Beirut.”

Natto said he was grateful to Red Bull for organizing the much anticipated event in the Arabian motorsports calendar. Launched five years ago the Red Bull Car Park Drift is the only official drifting competition in the Middle East.

"Drift Racing" which originated in Japan in the 1990s is a driving technique where the driver intentionally oversteers, causing loss of traction in the rear wheels, while maintaining full control from entry to exit of a corner. Professional drifting competitions are judged based on line, angle, speed and show factor.

Team Founder and Manager Mohammed Alsofiani, said that with Natto’s superb driving skills, and experience gained from continuous practices and participations in regional and international championships, the result was expected.

He appreciated the efficient organization of the competition and Red Bull’s efforts to encourage motorsport in Saudi Arabia along with team’s sponsors support, ( Snickers-‘Don’t Stop,’ Hyundai-Naghi and RexonaMen ).
