The Abu Dhabi Police K9 Department Attracts Visitors at IHEE


Providing guidelines and tips on dog care

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, September 5th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

The Security Inspection Department (K9) at the Abu Dhabi Police has been attracting significant numbers of visitors touring the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (IHEE) 2013. At the department’s pavilion, visitors are acquainted with the K9’s various achievements and tasks, and are provided with guidelines and tips on how to train and housebreak dogs.

The K9 Department is also showing videos at its pavilion, highlighting its achievements, notably its efforts to help community members and farmers combat palm weevil using trained police sniffer dogs. The department is also displaying photographs of the department’s activities, along with photographs of the breeds of dogs used in security inspection, to acquaint the public with their names, characteristics, height and weight.

Lieutenant Hamad Mubarak Al Azizi, Office Manager of the Security Inspection Department K9 Head said: “The Abu Dhabi Police’s participation in the exhibition reflects the role played by the police institution to enhance security and social awareness. It also highlights its essential role in maintaining security and stability, in line with the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy”.

Concluding, Lieutenant Hamad Mubarak Al Azizi indicated that the K9 Department will be presenting live police dogs shows throughout the Exhibition.
