ADP Establishments Protection Department Implements Open-Door Policy

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, September 24th 2013

According to Lt. Colonel Saleh Saeed Bakheet Al Rashidi, Head of Government and Diplomatic Establishments Protection Department at ADP, the open door policy implemented at the department has recently achieved outstanding levels in developing staff members’ performance, as well as boosting their spirit of innovation, to overcome any potential obstacle that might occur during the line of duty.  He indicated that the department avails the proposals discussed during open-days to boost communication between staff members and heads of departments.  

The department had recently organized the second annual meeting with employees, as part of its open-door policy to ensure transparency in receiving proposals and views that contribute to enhance staff members’ standards of performance. It also comes in line with the department’s keenness to review and discuss potential obstacles that prevent staff members from attaining the aspired level of achievement coveted by the department.

During the meeting, Lt. Colonel Saleh Saeed Bakheet Al Rashidi, Head of the department, listened to staff members’ proposals and answered their queries. He emphasized the department’s intention to turn the annual meeting into a quarterly meeting, so as to provide all staff members with the opportunity to submit further valuable proposals and ideas, and to attain the highest level of communication with employees.

Al Rashidi also noted that the open-door policy is in keeping with the mechanisms of communication, to learn about staff members’ ideas, proposals and expectations either through the complaint box, or through direct communication with heads of departments. He asserted that the doors are open to employees, who can take up any issue with their direct superior at any time without restrictions or conditions.

Furthermore, he stressed that the open-door policy has succeeded in overcoming several work-related obstacles with employees. The departments also benefited from the distinguished proposals, with a view to advance police work and promote the spirit of innovation.

Concluding, Lt Colonel Al Rashidi underscored the importance of communication with the department’s Strategy Branch, closely linked to the Police General Headquarters’ strategies, aimed at providing high- quality service to the public; and maintaining security and stability gains.
