Multidisciplinary Approach to Target the Diabetic Foot

The 4th International Diabetic Foot Conference aims to address the growing global healthcare challenge posed by diabetes-related limb amputations in an evidence-informed, patient–focused, interdisciplinary forum. The importance of the multidisciplinary approach to target the diabetic foot will be discussed during the two days conference held in JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 14 to 15 November, 2013.

Dr. Marwan Al Zarouni, Chair of the International Diabetic Foot Conference said, “The objective of the conference is to discuss the importance of appropriate vascular interventions and their regional and ethnic variations in diabetic foot care and recognize the growing importance of the diabetic foot as an international health care problem”.

This forum will be a combination of lectures, discussions as well as symposiums and interactive workshops. The role of various technologies and their impact on healing and preventing diabetic foot ulcer appropriate use of various offloading techniques in the management and prevention of diabetic foot ulcer and appropriate antibiotic care of infected foot including bio-films and the diagnosis of infection in the diabetic foot will be addressed during the conference.

The conference will be addressing topics related to epidemiology, diagnostics of diabetic foot, biomechanics, Osteoarthropathy, infection/diagnosis and management, the role of endocrinology in managing the diabetic foot and tips for practicing imaging for Charcot and osteomyelitis amongst others.

Scientific workshops will include 60 seconds diabetic foot screening workshop, diabetic foot offloading from basic to advance, diabetic foot vascular assessment, diabetic assessment and advance wound dressing.

Regional and local experts in the field will share their wealth of knowledge via the evidence-based and hands-on workshops with breakout sessions and plenary sessions to meet the needs of all delegates.
