ADP Finance and Services Staff Members Introduce Customer Service Projects

The Finance and Services Directorate General at Abu Dhabi Police honored 23 of its distinguished staff members, in recognition of their role in providing a set of proposals and projects that were actually implemented, to improve police work and customer service.

In the ceremony held the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services praised the staff members’ creative and innovative ideas to boost customer service, and strengthen partnership and interaction with community sectors. This philosophy reflects the police force’s civilized message.

Moreover, the Director General of Finance and Services reiterated the keenness of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to honor distinguished and creative staff members.  He also underscored His Highness’s commitment to develop the sense of creativity and innovation among all MoI’s staff members as the main priority of Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy.

While distributing certificates, Major General Badran urged the honorees to pursue further innovative ideas and projects, with a view to achieve efficiency in police work. He also lauded the participation of female staff members along with their colleagues in providing proposals for developmental projects.

During the ceremony, a number of honored officers gave a brief overview of their innovative projects. Colonel Ahmad Saeed Al Badi, Deputy Director of Financial Affairs, noted that his joint project with Major Burgan Ahmed Al Hammad, Chief of Budget and Expenditure Control Section, focused on introducing the Japanese Kaizen system, to achieve continuous performance improvement of processes and develop work systems at the Finance and Services Directorate General. This innovative system was applied at the Finance and Services Director General’s office and all sections.

Furthermore, Lieutenant Colonel Ali Salem Al Mansouri, from the Purchase and Stores Department, noted that his proposal touched on developing official seals, which only included Arabic texts in their graphic emblem in the past. He indicated that creating unified seals in both Arabic and English would acquaint foreign customers with their transactions’ procedures. Another proposal was also provided on the “to whom it may concern” certificate, which became available in Arabic and English.

In turn, Major Ghanem Ali Al Issai, from the Purchase and Stores Department, gave an overview of his proposal on designing an electronic screen that allows customers to follow-up their transactions across the different sections of the Finance and Services Directorate General.  As part of this proposal, customers can keep track of their transactions, particularly invoices, from any Section at the Finance and Services Directorate General. Concluding, he indicated that the proposal was nominated for the current edition of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.

For his part, Captain Mohammed Ibrahim Al Marzouqi from the Clubs Department, noted that his proposal which has been actually implemented included providing discounted rates for the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi Police’s staff members, to enjoy the advantages of the Ferrari World theme park. Captain Rashid Mohammed Al Niyadi, from the Financial Affairs Department, submitted a proposal to restructure the electronic revenue auditing process and e-link all Abu Dhabi Police’s service centers.  It is noteworthy that most proposals include aspects that serve the police work, namely; the optimal use of screens the directorate; program development; organizing courses and conferences; information technology maintenance; community development among other things.

Motivating Staff Members for Creativity

Lt. Colonel Ahmed Mohammed Al Shebly, Head of the Creativity and Innovation Award Evaluation Committee, stressed the importance of the award in motivating the Finance and Services Directorate General’s Staff members to provide ideas and proposals for developmental projects that serve police work. He pointed out that projects are selected and evaluated based on the importance of achieving the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s aspirations in the process of development. This, in turn, reflects the strategic objectives in providing high-quality services on both internal and external levels.
