Abu Dhabi Police Releases a 15-Language Tourist Guidance Leaflet

The Abu Dhabi Police released a guidance leaflet for tourists featuring 15 different languages. It includes guidelines on morals and ethics that should be followed by tourists visiting the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The leaflet helps increase awareness on the UAE’s traditions and customs, and enhances tourist concepts and spreads awareness among them.
The leaflet includes advice on protection against illegal car lifts as well as instructions on what to do in case you lose your luggage or personal belongings in a taxi. It also introduces visitors to the approximate price of trips, as well as the exchange rates. Furthermore, the leaflet explains to tourists how to contact  the Tourism Police in Abu Dhabi for help, indicating the police website: www.hr.adpolice.gov.ae/TouristPolice. The leaflet of the Tourism Police Section at the Abu Dhabi Police features these 15 languages: Arabic, English, Russian, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Italian, Korean, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, Filipino, Hindi, and Urdu.
Colonel Dr. Rashid Mohammad Borshid, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, said: “Preparing the leaflet comes within the developmental efforts made by the Abu Dhabi Police to improve the Tourism Police, and enhance security and awareness services provided to tourists. These efforts are made to provide tourists with comfort so they can have happy experiences as well as maintain societal security.”
He added: “In order to achieve further security and peace of mind, and in order to offer safe and secure tourism, the section has released this leaflet. It is written in a simple language allowing us to cooperate with this category, creating a secure feeling and avoiding accidents that tourists may encounter by communicating with them and providing them with preventive solutions.”
Borshid urged tourists not to hesitate to ask for help from the Tourism Police in emergency cases. “The Tourism Police Section is ready to act and provide services as quickly as possible, reflecting the bright image of the country. Tourists can reach the police via the Operations Room on 999 or call the Aman service on the toll free number 8002626 to reach the Tourism Police Section,” he explained.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Muzyad Al Utaibi, Chief of Tourism Police Section at the Criminal Investigation Department at the Abu Dhabi Police, said: “The leaflet offers five important guidelines for tourists. It also introduces them to the services, including the approximate exchange rates and a table with approximate prices for different taxi trips. Our goal is to provide tourists with distinguished services enabling them to enjoy a safe visit.”
“To better serve tourists, the leaflet will be distributed at all touristic locations, covering the Abu Dhabi International Airport, hotel rooms, Mina Zayed, in addition to embassies and consulates,” he added.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Utaibi stated: “In addition to providing proper awareness, the police is able to respond fast, while normally patrolling the touristic areas to spot any practices or situations that might annoy tourists and negatively affect their enjoyment and feeling of safety.”
He added: “We are working to limit incidents tourists may encounter by providing preventive solutions and opening communication channels, in addition to enhancing safety and the feeling of security among tourists, while improving employee performance at the section and police stations in addition to public sector employees that are in direct contact with tourists.”
