At the elaborate Femina Middle East Women Awards 2016 awards ceremony held at the exquisite Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai, Pyramedia CEO Nashwa Al Ruwaini was named winner for the “Unstoppable in Media Award”. A confluence of intellect and creativity, the event was a celebration of inspirational and influential women that have contributed to an Unstoppable UAE.

A role model for many aspiring businesswomen in the Middle East, Nashwa started her career at the young age of 15 as a radio presenter before becoming the first female TV presenter in the Arab world, famous for her immensely successful show ‘Nashwa’. She headed the North Africa operations for MBC before launching her own production and media consultancy practice in 1998. She has won numerous awards and accolades throughout her illustrious career including the ‘Most powerful business women in the Middle-East’ by Forbes, CEO magazine and Arabian Business. Shows produced by her company, such as Million’s Poet and Prince of Poets, have received multiple awards for technical excellence and have enthralled audiences over the years.
When asked what drives her and makes her Unstoppable, Nashwa’s response was succinct but thought-provoking. “I am passionate about everything I do and I simply don’t take no for an answer. There is no finality in a ‘no’. I persevere till I find a way to turn the ‘no’ to a ‘yes’.”
