MoI Discusses Recent Committee Preparations for ISNR 2014


ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, September 16th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

The Ministry of Interior, represented by the Organizing Higher Committee of the International Conference for Security and National Resilience “ISNR 2014”, discussed the recent preparations made by the sub-committees of the event that will be held in Abu Dhabi from the 1st – 3rd April next year.

The committee reviewed the steps and procedures taken by the sub-committees in addition to highlighting the achievement of the higher committee since its formation.

This came at the meeting of the higher committee, chaired by Major General Staff Dr. Obeid Al Kutbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of the Higher Commission of the exhibition and conference. The meeting was held in the Lectures Hall at the Ministry of Interior.

Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations and Deputy Chairman of the committee; Major General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Civil Defense Acting General Commander-in-chief; Brigadier Saeed Salim Al Henki, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Security Challenges held alongside ISNR 2014; members of the Higher Committee; and chairmen and members of the sub-committees were present at the meeting. 

At the beginning of the meeting, Al Kutbi welcomed the attendees and thanked the efforts they made to elevate this event to the position and reputation of the Ministry of Interior. He stressed that this event is one of the major exhibitions held in the UAE, and one of the top five international exhibitions.

Al Kutbi urged the chairmen and members of the sub-committees to unite their efforts, work as one team, and empower cooperation and collaboration among sub-committees in order to achieve success. “We want to be number one. We want this exhibition and conference to be distinguished and in line with the positive reputation and high status of our country in terms of organizing and creating an exhibition,” he said.

Following his address, the attendees reviewed the achievements of the sub-committees. Colonel Abdullah Mohammed Al Shehhi, Head of Higher Committee Secretariat, delivered a short presentation on what the higher committee has achieved recently. He also presented the committee’s vision on how to manage the event; he delivered a brief on the activities that will be held on the sideline of the exhibition.

Major General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Civil Defense Acting General Commander-in-chief and member of the Higher Committee, reviewed the achievements of the civil defense committee in addition to the marketing procedures to encourage companies to participate in the exhibition.

Brigadier Saeed Al Henki, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Conference on Security Challenges held alongside ISNR 2014, delivered a short presentation on the major achievement of the scientific committee, including the conference calendar, the topics and the international experts participating in the conference.

Brigadier Saeed Saif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Finance and Procurement Committee, reviewed the achievement of the committee and mentioned a number of companies that agreed to participate in the exhibition.

Ara Fernezian, Div. Managing Director of Reed Exhibitions in the UAE, presented an overview of the exhibition’s sales volume. He highlighted a number of countries taking part in the exhibition, in addition to sponsors. He said that 60% of the total exhibition space of 7,150 m2 was sold; the same as 2012. He added that 135 companies were contracted with, compared to 76 companies in 2012.

Colonel Saif Al Shamesi, Chairman of the Activities and Shows Organizing Committee, briefed the attendees on the social offers that will be presented on the side lines of the exhibition.

Colonel Mohammed Al Zaabi, Chairman of the MoI Pavilion Committee, spoke on the committee’s major achievements, in terms of the space that was booked and the number of security and police entities that will exhibit at the pavilion.

Colonel Waleed Al Ali, Chairman of the Protocols, Relations and Hospitality Committee, delivered a presentation on the committee’s progress regarding hotel bookings and providing cars to welcome participating delegations.

Lieutenant Colonel Saeed Al Khajah, Deputy Chairman of the Media Committee, reviewed the achievements regarding promoting the exhibition and the conference, in addition to advertisements in local papers, in English and Arabic, and on social networks and specialized magazines. “We have contacted 999 Magazine and the National Shield Journal to collaborate with them regarding the issuance of a daily release. We also printed booklets and flyers to promote the event,” he explained.

Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Al Shammari, Deputy Chairman of Marketing Committee, reviewed the achievements recently made by his committee.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Major General Staff Al Kutbi commended the great efforts made by the sub-committees, calling upon them to redouble their efforts to achieve excellence and bring success to the event. He wished everyone good luck and success.
