Community Police Delegation Visits Al Shawab Rest House

A delegation from the Social Relations and Guidance Section at the Abu Dhabi Police’s department of Community Police, visited Al Shawab Rest House in Dubai.  This visit comes in line with the social responsibility and humanitarian assistance initiatives undertaken by the Community Police to interact with the different sectors of society.

Major Ahmed Gharib Al Mansouri, Chief of the Social Relations and Guidance Section at the Community Police, reiterated the elderly’s significant role in the upbringing of the past generation of community members.  He stressed the UAE’s keen interest to acknowledge old people’s role and efforts during their youth and to provide them with all means of comfort and a decent life.

During the visit to Al Shawab Rest House, Major Al Mansouri gave an awareness-raising lecture showcasing the Community Police’s role in the Emirati society, by participating in the various societal and humanitarian events, in addition to its major role in providing security and stability for community members.

For his part, Preacher Hassan al Dsouki presented a set of religious guidelines, and acquainted attendees with the rules of Islam, which calls for peace and love, communication between fathers and sons, as well as the need to respect and care for elderly parents, and to provide them with help and assistance.

The visit included a number of educational and awareness performances presented by media figure Jassem Obaid Al Zaabi, highly admired and applauded by the elderly.

Jassim Kalban, Director of the Rest House in Dubai, briefed Major Ahmed Gharib Al Mansouri and the accompanying delegation on the efforts exerted at the Rest House, as well as the various advantages and services it offers to the elderly.  

It is noteworthy that the Al Shawab Rest House for Elderly provides several activities, recreational, intellectual and religious events for the elderly citizens. It has been set to offer medical care, therapeutic, rehabilitation, and social services for the elderly, by a team of medical specialists, nurses and health supervisors.
