ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, September 4th 2013

The Abu Dhabi Police reviewed the preparations made by the Security Committee of the

International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (IHEE) 2013.

For this end, Brigadier Dr. Saif Bu Dhafira Al Ameri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at

Abu Dhabi Police visited the committee at the Exhibition Land Center in Abu Dhabi. He was given an

overview of the preparations and procedures established to ensure the security of the exhibition

and the weapons licensing mechanisms.

Brigadier Al Ameri was greeted by Colonel Hameed Al Afrit, Head of the Weapons and Explosives

Department at Abu Dhabi Police, and Chairman of the Security Committee; accompanied by

Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Criminal Evidence Department. Colonel Al Afrit

shed light on the preparations made to ensure the best high-end security services to both citizens

and exhibition visitors.

The Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police met the Security Committee

members; lauding their efforts to highlight the positive role of the Security Committee during the

exhibition.

Brigadier Al Ameri also visited the fingerprint office at the exhibition, and reviewed the state-of-

the-art equipment used to issue the Criminal Status Certificate (Good Conduct and Behavior

Certificate) for Nationals wishing to purchase and license weapons.

He also visited some other police entities that will be taking part in the exhibition, notably the

Security Inspection (K9) Department’s pavilion, which will be giving Police Dogs’ performances for

the exhibition’s visitors.

Brigadier Al Ameri urged the Security Committee members to raise awareness among individuals

wishing to purchase and license weapons on the different conditions and requirements of

safekeeping of weapons and ammunitions around the house, and the importance of regular

maintenance of those weapons.

He also praised the diligent efforts exerted by the IHEE’s Higher Organizing Committee to reflect an

honorable image of the event.  He also indicated that the committee spares no effort to highlight

this event, with the full support of senior officials from the government, which earned the exhibition

international fame during its past sessions. Thus, it became the preferred destination for all hunting

and equestrian equipment manufacturers competing with similar international exhibitions.

It is noteworthy that the 2013 session of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (IHEE)

features an increased number of exhibitors and participants compared with previous years; and will

host hunting and equestrian fans, as well as environmental Advocates from across the world.
