The Social Support Centers at Abu Dhabi Police, represented by Children and Juveniles Branch (Children Visitation Section) in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Western Region, indicated that it has handled received total of 70 cases during the first half of the year 2013. Custody children were received within and outside the centers, under the supervision of specialized personnel who are qualified and trained in handling the visitation process.
For his part, Lt. Colonel Obeid Al Moghni, Chief of Society Affairs Section at the Social Support Centers, reiterated the department’s commitment to identify social and family problems and pursue the suitable solutions as soon as possible to prevent families from falling apart. This stems out of the abiding faith in the importance of achieving a safe and stable family environment. He also pointed out that the department has recently succeeded in obtaining a court order to grant one of the parents visitation rights to his child.
Moreover, Al Moghni emphasized that the Social Support Centers Department endeavors diligently to organize the child custody and parenting time (also called "visitation") process. It also seeks to educate parents on the proper educational methods to deal with their children, to provide them with advice and guidance so as to achieve social and family security, and provide families with the necessary support to solve their social and educational problems. Moreover, the department plays an instrumental role in preparing and implementing plans that support children, and enhance their status in society; being the main pillar to build the nation and achieve progress of its communities.
