(BUSINESS WIRE) JAC Motors’ global sales received a timely injection as Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the closing ceremony of the 13th annual China-Venezuela summit on July 21, 2014. JAC Automobile (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. affiliated with JAC Automobile Co., Ltd. Hefei, China, the Venezuelan Ministry of Road Transport and CORPOVEX S.A. signed a contract for the purchase of 5,239 heavy-duty trucks, worth a total of USD 274 million.
In addition to heavy trucks, JAC will also provide automotive training and technical assistance to staff in Venezuela. It is the largest heavy-duty truck order obtained by a Chinese automobile manufacturer outside mainland China, proving that JAC Motors is an increasingly formidable competitor in the international auto market.
Zhang Peng, Vice General Manager of JAC explained, “Exporting such a large volume of heavy-duty trucks to Venezuela is a testament to the performance and quality of JAC’s trucks. Reliable quality was the deciding factor in how we triumphed over other automobile manufacturers during the tender process.”

Further, JAC heavy trucks’ engines come equipped with high efficiency and low fuel consumption technologies, allowing these trucks to outperform competitors in fuel consumption by approximately 5% without sacrificing power or torque.
Since entering Venezuela in 2006, JAC has sold close to 10,000 vehicles. In 2012, JAC and its Venezuelan partner together established the KD plant. “Thanks to this partnership, in 2013 by surpassing GM in light-duty truck sales, JAC became the best-selling and most reputable Chinese automobile brand in Venezuela, and meanwhile the capacity of our KD plant expanded to 10,000 units/year. The plant produces a mix of light trucks, heavy-duty trucks and pick-up trucks,” said Zhang.
