Nashville Metro Water Services Selects Compliance EnviroSystems, LLC for Electro Scan Project

Leading Sewer Evaluation Company to Electro Scan 57,000 ft of Sanitary Sewers

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Tuesday, March 18th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE) Electro Scan Inc. announced today that Nashville Metro Water Services selected Compliance EnviroSystems, LLC (CES) to complete a 57,000 ft. Electro Scan project.

Metro Water Services is a department of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and is Tennessee’s largest provider of wastewater collection and treatment. Metro Water Services provides service to more than 176,000 water accounts and more than 189,000 sewer accounts, managing over 2,800 miles of water main and over 3,000 miles of sewer main. Brick and clay sewers were first constructed in 1823.

Founded in 1995, CES is a full service storm sewer and sanitary sewer evaluation firm with headquarters in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with offices throughout the Southeast and Eastern United States. Known for its pioneering use of new technologies and commitment to deliver quality sewer inspection data, CES was instrumental in the clean-up work after hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005 and Nashville floods in 2010.

“We are delighted to put Electro Scan to work in Nashville,” says Joe Atol IV, Vice President of Operations, CES. “Our team had been tracking this technology [Electro Scan] for several years and liked the way it simulated wet weather conditions and ability to deliver comparative infiltration analysis per line segment. The data creates a unique management tool for engineers and wastewater professionals.”

Electro Scan’s technology utilizes a patent-pending process to automatically find & measure defects not commonly detected by acoustical listening devices, infrared sensors, laser profilers, ground-penetrating radar or CCTV cameras to assess sewer, stormwater, and water pipes.

As part of the project, Electro Scan will be assisting CES to ensure project reporting is in compliance with ASTM F2550-13.

“I am pleased to be helping CES in Nashville,” states Chuck Hansen, Chairman of Electro Scan and former CEO of Hansen Information Technologies Inc. “I’ve always considered Metro Water Services to be an industry leader. In the early 1990s, I remember being so impressed with Metro’s manhole inspection form that I had my former software company re-design its system to make sure we captured the same data that Metro did.”

Added to existing TV Trucks or available as a standalone van, Electro Scan locates sources of infiltration and can detect post-rehabilitation defects to the closest 0.4 inches (1 centimeter) and estimate defect flows in gallons per minute (liters per second).
