DALLAS. - Thursday, March 13th 2014 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS
WIRE) Chuck E. Cheese’s plan to open more than 80 international
franchise locations in the next six years is right on track with the
newest locations in Mexico City, Mexico, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia,
welcoming families through their doors last November and December. The
new additions to the entertainment leader’s international family bring
the total operating store count outside the U.S. and Canada to 21, with
an anticipated 10 to open in 2014, including one new country, Trinidad.
“In
the last few years, we’ve become very passionate about and focused on
the expansion of our international franchise program,” said Roger
Cardinale, president of CEC Entertainment, Inc.’s International
Division. “The Chuck E. Cheese character and brand are recognized
throughout popular culture worldwide as being synonymous with family
fun, food, games and celebrations; and we’re excited to be working
closely with dedicated partners that can help us meet the demand for
Chuck E. Cheese’s entertainment in places that are eager to welcome us.”
The
new Mexico City Chuck E. Cheese’s, first in the city and second in the
country, features innovations on the American concept such as a coffee
bar and an upstairs area with private party rooms available as part of a
new premium party package. On the menu, local guests will find a
Mexican-style pizza topped with chorizo sausage and jalapeños. Guests in
Riyadh, the fifth restaurant under the Chuck E. Cheese’s umbrella in
Saudi Arabia, will also find a local favorite seafood-style pizza on the
menu and high-quality coffee and pastries at an in-store coffee bar.
“When
looking for development opportunities that made sense for the Mexico
City community, Chuck E. Cheese’s was a natural fit,” said Carlos Gil,
brand director, Grupo ITISA. “Spending time together as a whole family
is central to our culture, and making a visit to Chuck E. Cheese’s turns
those fun moments shared together into an unforgettable memory.”
In
addition to fun, food and games for family members of all ages, each
new store also brings with it at least 50 jobs for staff management and
cast members as well as added employment during the construction and
development of each restaurant. Along with the freedom of incorporating
unique elements that reflect local tastes, cultures and traditions,
Chuck E. Cheese’s international franchise partners are also encouraged
to create connections with area manufacturers and vendors, allowing
owners to keep business inside the community.
“Our newest store
in Riyadh is the second in our network, and we’re confident that it will
be as successful and meaningful to the community as our established
store has been,” said Talal Azhari, brand director, Unique Hospitality
Group. “Working with Chuck E. Cheese’s to bring their restaurant and
gaming centers to Saudi Arabia has been beneficial for both the
employment and entertainment environments here, and we look forward to
continued growth together as partners.”

We had my 6 year old son's party there on a Wednesday, the early-out day for his school. Anyway, the staff was very friendly, the place was spotless, the food was decent, and the kids had a great time, running around and playing on all of the games. Honestly, this is a great place for a group of boys to get their video game fix on. Pretty reasonable, if you ask me, especially since I did not have to bring a thing! I haven't been there since it was remodeled and several of the parents commented on how nice it was. My kid says that he wants to have his 10th birthday there, too! We'll see, eh?
