Ramadan Majlis Commends the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work Initiative

A Ramadan Majlis (traditional gathering place for UAE locals) in Abu Dhabi commended the launch of the Zayed Day for Humanitarian Work initiative in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s (May God Have Mercy on His Soul) work in the humanitarian field. The attendees of the Majlis stressed the importance of the initiative in promoting social partnerships.

The Majlis discussed a number of social issues especially negative ones that are alien to the UAE community. The attendees requested that such issues be combated through community cohesion and communication.

The attendees of the Majlis included Lt. Colonel Rashed Al Thukhri, Major Dr. Omar Ibrahim Al Ali, Major Sultan Khalifa Al Mansouri, Major Awad Muhanna Al Mahrami, Major Muhammad Nasser Al Kutbi, and Major Abudullah Salem Al Nuaimi from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, alongside a number of UAE citizens.

The Majlis was hosted by Major Muhammed Hassan Al Hosani, Operation Affairs Director at the Madinat Khalifa Police Station of the Peripheral Regions Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police. He addressed the role of the Community Police in spreading awareness and educating laborer communities through awareness lectures and organizing social and sporting activities that would occupy their leisure time.

He shed light on the e-crimes and domestic worker laws, the issue of begging, negative aspects of keeping animals in residential areas, and practicing professions without a license, in addition to other topics. Attendees commended the role of the Community Police in promoting communication among all segments of society.

Major Al Hosani recently hosted an Iftar for a delegation from Community Police, which was headed by Captain Juma’a Al Badi, Community Police Branch Manager at the Madinat Khalifa Police Station of the Peripheral Regions Directorate in the General Directorate of Police Operations in the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, at his residence in Abu Dhabi.

He stressed the importance of community cohesion in strengthening the most important principles of patriotism, and promoting brotherhood among all. He noted that these Majlis events strengthen community relations, which is a reflection of the public’s confidence in the police institution, leading to strengthening the bonds among them and spreading security and stability.

He said that such meetings during Ramadan increase connectivity between community members and the police institution. He noted that they emphasize the police’s social role through participation and dialogue in addition to exchanging views on how to overcome issues, suggesting appropriate solutions, determining the needs of the community, and working on developing the spirit of partnership.

Captain Al Badi explained that the visits made by the Community Police are one of the programs implemented during the holy month of Ramadan, in line with the framework of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters strategy to promote relations between the police and community members, as well as to elevate public satisfaction.

He mentioned that such Majlis events during Ramadan aim to convene with citizens to promote the spirit of communication and affection in the holy month. He noted that they also aim to identify their needs and the major problems that they face, and spread awareness about the risks of negative issues and how to tackle them through mutual cooperation. He said that the security of the community is a social responsibility that is not limited to the police mentioning that it is a shared responsibility between community members and the police.
