New Federal Traffic Points Program Bureau in Al Ain

The Police Follow-up Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior inaugurated the Federal Traffic Points Program Bureau at the Emirates Driving Company in Al Khrair area in Al Ain.

Colonel Mohammad Suhail Al Rashidi, Acting Director of the Al Ain Police Directorate indicated that the Bureau was established in cooperation and coordination with the Emirates Driving Company. This aims to provide better services to motorists and traffic offenders by facilitating their enrollment in the Federal Traffic Points Program and attend awareness lectures.

“The traffic program serves to educate offenders to respect traffic laws; to instill the culture of self-control; develop driving skills; and promote traffic awareness among community members. This would contribute to curb traffic accidents through training programs, and reduce recurrence of traffic violations,” added Colonel Al Rashidi.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Saif Obaid Al Khaili, Director of the Police Follow-up Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior noted that the Federal Traffic Program aims to rehabilitate motorists, develop their safe driving skills and motivate them to observe traffic rules, by enrolling them in training, rehabilitation and awareness programs, implemented in coordination with the Police Follow-up Department’s strategic partners. .

According to Lieutenant Colonel Al Khaili, for all individuals wishing to enroll in the Traffic Points Program to reduce their traffic black points, the number of traffic black points should not exceed 23 points when entering the course. Moreover, joining the traffic black points program is allowed only once a year for each traffic case; and only 8 black points are reduced upon the program's successful completion.

“The training program comprises a one-day General Program with three lectures; and a two-day Special Program, with three lectures per day,” ” stated Lieutenant Colonel Al Khaili.

Concluding, he noted that motorists who sign up for the Federal Traffic Points Program must visit the Police Follow-up Department in the city of Al Ain or call the following number: 600566006. Following the registration process, the customer service desk will contact participants to confirm registration and collect the necessary information. Furthermore, participants will be evaluated prior to the course to determine the proper program.  “Motorists who pass the course will have their black points cleared and their driving licenses returned. Drivers who fail the course will have to retake it,” Al Khaili added.

It is noteworthy that the program provides motorists with an opportunity to rehabilitate their behavior, develop their driving skills, and motivate them to abide by traffic rules, so as to enhance traffic safety and spread awareness among traffic offenders.
