ADP Traffic Receives ISO Certification for Environment, Health and Occupational Safety

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, February 24th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police has received the ISO 14001:2004 and the OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications for environment, health and occupational safety. These came in recognition of the directorate’s efforts to implement the highest standards, implement quality operations in health, environment and occupational safety based on international practices, and identify risks that could affect health and occupational safety.

In his office at the directorate, Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police, honored the Health and Occupational Safety team of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police. He praised their efforts of keeping up with the quality requirements based on international practices and identifying the risks that could affect health, occupational safety and environment.

Al Harithi stressed the directorate’s commitment to the best standards for health, as well as employees’ and clients’ safety, through Abu Dhabi Police’s general policy for environment and health, which is reflected in its efforts to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all employees by continuously review all measures and practices that could affect their health status and implement any necessary improvements.

Al Harithi said: “It is very important to follow required procedures necessary to avoid accidents and health problems related to work. We should also provide a safe and healthy environment and maintain the facilities and equipment. Additionally, all substances must be stored and used in a safe way, along with sufficient monitoring to identify any safety, health or environment risks resulting from the work. We should also include the environment, health and occupational safety requirements into the training courses and the manuals, in addition to using modern safety equipment to help protect lives.”

Al Harithi called upon all employees at the directorate to maintain health, safety and environment standards and to be responsible towards providing reasonable care to themselves and others in a way that does not affect their activities.

Lloyds International has audited the controls of the environment, health and occupational safety system adopted by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police.
