Aon Hewitt launches 2011 Best Employers in Middle East Study

Focus on driving business results through people

Dubai, Sunday, November 28th 2010 [ME NewsWire]:

Aon Hewitt has launched its Best Employers in Middle East 2011 study - the largest employee research project and market practice study undertaken in the Middle East. More than 100 well known organisations from the region participated in the 2009 study.

The Best Employers study provides insights into how people practices relate to business effectiveness. It enables an organisation to benchmark its own approach, and will identify the 2011 shortlist of the Aon Hewitt Best Employers in Middle East.

The Aon Hewitt Best Employers in Middle East 2011 study is a part of the Aon Hewitt Best Employers in Asia Pacific 2011 study, which spans 11 markets including Australia/New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. In the Middle East, Aon Hewit has partnered with Amcham Egypt, Bahrain Association of Banks, Mohammed Bin Raktoum Foundation, Dubai and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Riyadh for the purpose of developing the study.

Organisations need to register to participate in the study by 20 December 2010. The study is expected to represent the views of around 200,000 employees across the region. Participating companies will receive an executive summary of the key findings and conclusions, free of charge in May 2011.

Linking with business performance

The 2011 study will have an increased focus on how organisations' people practices link with business performance. It will examine the business impact of positive people practices, and evaluate the actions and behaviours of the different employee segments that enable improved business performance.

Aon Hewitt Best Employers are selected by an independent judging panel comprised of leading academics and eminent business leaders. Participation is strictly confidential. Only the organisations that are named Aon Hewitt Best Employers will be announced publicly in May 2011.

Mr. Samir Mardini, Talent & Performance Solution Leader, Middle East and South Asia at Aon Hewitt, said:

"The inaugural Best Employers in Middle East 2009 study successfully represented views of over 150,000 employees across the Middle East region. This made it the largest employee research project in the Middle East. The Best Employers 2011 study will not just focus on how organisations drive business results through their people but also how The Best succeeded during the economic downturn.

"While revealing how organisations in the Middle East are achieving a real competitive advantage through their people, the study also indicates where an organisation is on its journey to becoming a Best Employer. We expect this study to enhance the standards of people practices in Middle East - making the region a better place to work."

Companies can register their interest to participate in the study by visiting www.hewitt.com/bestemployersmiddleeast.
