ADP Finance and Services Department Presents the Institutional Resource Planning Program at GITEX 2013

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Thursday, October 24th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

The Finance and Services Directorate General at Abu Dhabi Police recently took part, within the Ministry of Interior’s stand, in the GITEX Exhibition 2013, which is scheduled to wrap up on Thursday. It  acquainted visitors with the institutional resource planning system, which is a technical system designed to coordinate and create integration among all resources, information, and activities that are required to complete practical measures such as accounting, procurement, engineering projects, and vehicle management and maintenance. It also allows the exchange of data between its various segments, within a unified database and work interface.

Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police, noted that the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ is working on applying the Oracle Systems program for institutional resource planning in its organizational units where the financial, procurement, warehouses, contracts, engineering projects, transportation, and smart systems have been applied within the integrated systems package.

“The Finance and Services Directorate General is considered among the first governmental bodies to develop a guide for the classification of products and services by following international encoding rules known as UNSPSC (United Nations Standards for Products and Services Code). This encoding was linked to the balance items in the chart of accounts, where an item is selected automatically. This, in turn, contributed to the classification of products and services in homogeneous groups that benefit users in many ways, especially when applied in financial regulations,” he said.

Moreover, Major General Badran indicated that one of the most important achievements of the implementation of the institutional resource planning systems project was the great success in reducing the billing cycle time, where the rate of paying bills didn’t exceed 37% during the period of two weeks of submitting transactions. After applying the system, this percentage reached 99% within the same period. This contributed significantly to improving the leadership’s image among its partners, suppliers, and customers. In addition, it increased awareness and professionalism among its staff members participating in the project, as well as the accuracy of financial results extracted from the system.
