Meridian Systems Releases Proliance 5.0 for Infrastructure-Intensive Organizations Managing Large Capital Building Programs

Asset owners can leverage deeper capital program management capabilities to optimize and effectively manage infrastructure building programs

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Thursday, October 13th 2011 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Meridian Systems, the Plan-Build-Operate technology solutions leader for project-based organizations, announced today the release of Proliance® software version 5.0. The new version incorporates improved program management features, delivers an enhanced Workflow Engine and provides improvements to application administration.

The announcement was made today at Meridian’s User Conference.

Proliance uniquely combines capital planning, program and project management, business process management and analytics into one system of record, enabling asset owners and managers to track how their real estate, construction and facilities portfolios are performing.

“While effective project management has always been a critical component in managing large capital projects, requirements are becoming more and more complex today as the very nature and mix of infrastructure projects are changing,” said Cindy Jutras, principal, Mint Jutras, a key analyst firm focused on construction program and project management technology at Meridian’s User Conference. “So it is increasingly necessary for companies to utilize technology to improve program management capabilities to plan and build large infrastructure programs as well as to manage smaller projects including renovation, remodeling and even rebranding.”

Proliance 5.0 delivers improved program management capabilities with the addition of a new layer which gives asset owners more flexibility in how they structure, or group capital projects and programs. Users can now create capital program structures that support their strategic objectives – and easily align project teams to work on them.

The addition of the new layer increases the ease and flexibility of sharing program and project information, such as cross-project budgets and contracts, while maintaining project-level security, workflow and configuration capabilities. In addition, owners can more easily track and view highly summarized information at an organizational level, as well as drill down into specific program and project details. This is especially useful when applied to portfolios containing many similar projects that are to be delivered in a fast-paced rollout fashion.

Proliance 5.0 also incorporates an improved Workflow Engine. Building on improvements made in version 4.0, Proliance now includes workflow enhancements that present visual views of a planned workflow process, as well as its history. Users are now able to visually determine where a document is in the workflow, where it has been, and the person responsible to perform the next action.

“Proliance 5.0 incorporates many enhancement requests from our customers who have extensive experience in managing large capital construction programs,” said Rick Gehringer, head of the Capital Owners Business Unit at Meridian Systems. “Our focus for Proliance 5.0 has been to continually deliver broader and deeper program management functionality to better align with each owners’ specific portfolio structures and operating models.”
