Atlassian Announces All New OnDemand Service for Product Development and Collaboration

New á la carte SaaS offering with enterprise-grade products starts at just $10 per month, includes Atlassian JIRA and Confluence

SAN FRANCISCO - Wednesday, October 26th 2011 [ME NewsWire]

(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Atlassian OnDemand is a new software as a service (SaaS) offer that allows software development and project teams to use Atlassian's award-winning products, including Atlassian JIRA and Confluence, for as low as $10/month for 10-users. The new multi-tenant, cloud-based service gives customers access to a set of enterprise-grade development and collaboration products at unprecedented prices that can be configured in minutes.

In addition to Atlassian products, OnDemand customers will have a choice of integrating with third-party applications to add additional power, features, and versatility to their project environments. The new OnDemand service will succeed Atlassian Hosted which was launched in 2006.

"The new Atlassian OnDemand gives innovators everywhere incredibly easy access to the services that will help them build and collaborate on their projects," said Mike Cannon-Brookes, Atlassian CEO and Co-founder. "Atlassian OnDemand is priced to give everyone, regardless of the size of their organization, access to our best products as well as leading third-party applications from our OnDemand integration partners."

Used by over 40% of the Fortune 500 and tens of thousands of other companies, startups and non-profits in more than 140 countries, Atlassian's products help companies manage the entire software development process, from concept to launch.

À la carte

Atlassian OnDemand is á la carte – users can start with any product and then add other products they need or want over time. The Atlassian applications are fully-integrated – as new products are added, new tabs appear along the top of a user's screen, links can be shared between apps, there is shared navigation, and users are shared between the systems.

Atlassian OnDemand includes JIRA, Confluence, GreenHopper, Team Calendars, Bonfire, FishEye, Crucible and Bamboo. Atlassian OnDemand also includes free maintenance and upgrades of all its applications. In addition, users can seamlessly add third-party SaaS products such as Google Apps, Zendesk, Salesforce.com, uTest and GetSatisfaction.

"Atlassian has assembled quite a remarkable collection of products for technical teams with the OnDemand suite, including a simple way to add community to the development cycle," said Get Satisfaction CEO Wendy Lea. "Get Satisfaction for JIRA is for any developer or product team looking for meaningful feedback from their customers, wherever they are. Injecting customers into the product development cycle not only accelerates development and issue resolution, but ensures that your team is building exactly what your buyers need."

Getting started

Atlassian will continue to give customers a choice of hosting the products on their own servers, or having the products delivered as a service by Atlassian OnDemand. The feature sets are identical, and all customers, regardless of what they paid, qualify for Atlassian's "Legendary Service" promise.
