Naturalization and Residency Department Wins the Committed to Excellence European Certificate


New Achievement of the Ministry of Interior

The Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector in the Ministry of Interior has achieved the Committed to Excellence Certificate after passing the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM). It is the first sector in the Ministry to make such achievement in excellence and comprehensive management development.

H.E. Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior for Resources and Support Services stressed that this achievement comes as a result of the directives of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to continue the efforts for keeping pace with the future challenges and ensure as great amount of quality and excellence as possible, and elevate the level of services provided to the public by the Ministry.

He noted that the Ministry of Interior is keen on implementing the instructions of the higher leadership to make the UAE among the best countries of the world in security and safety, and to work effectively and efficiently in order to enhance the quality of life of the UAE society. This is to be done by providing security, traffic and residency services, and ensuring the safety of lives and properties, against the values that comprise justice and team work spirit, as well as good manners, integrity, loyalty and social responsibility. He reiterated the keenness of the ministry of interior on establishing the concepts of excellence as a culture and actual practice in line with the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior 2014 -2016.

He said: “The distinguished efforts exerted by the leaderships in the Ministry of Interior towards developing and managing the performance of the ministry lead to excellence and to the best international standards and practices.” Major General Al Khaili added that the “the excellence and quality culture is the language of our leadership” which always encourages us to pursue excellence and to make our country a real emblem of civilization, creativity and development. He reinstated the commitment of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector to continue the efforts to undertake the future challenges and ensure as great amount of quality and excellence as possible, and elevate the level of services provided to the public.

He added that the directives of the higher leadership stimulated the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs to constantly develop its performance to realize the concepts of creativity and excellence that aim at gaining the satisfaction of clients, staff, partners, the community and others, reaffirming his commitment and that of the leaders of the sector to continue on this path in a way that strengthens the development efforts now and in the future.

Major General Al Khaili noted that a development team for the sector, led by Colonel Dr. Abdullah Abdurrahman bin Sultan, Head of Strategy and Performance Development, was formed in order to obtain the “Committed to Excellence” Certificate. Dr. bin Sultan made work teams under his direct supervision composed of an elite of the staff of the sector. Those teams worked for several months on analyzing the internal environment and producing developmental initiatives. The teams included Lt. Colonel Mohammed Hammoud Al Nabhani; Lt. Colonel Sameh Khalaf Al Dhaen; Quality Expert Eman Saeed Abu Labdeh; Major Abdullah bin Hareb; and Captain Omar Alwi Al Aidarous.

Major General Al Khaili said that the work teams will be honored adequately, and that the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector will announce during the coming months some of the distinguished development achievements realized by the sector, as well as the launch of distinct initiatives that meet the aspirations of customers.

For his part, Brigadier Sultan Yusuf Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Corporate Excellence Council in the sector, Director General of the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department in Ras Al Khaimah commended this achievement, and the success of the project in improving and developing the management processes, as well as the success in implementing the program of competencies management.

Colonel bin Sultan, stressed that this distinguished project led to excellent results, and excellent competencies in the sector were discovered while working with the development teams. This will lead to continuing in achieving certificates and higher levels of excellence. He noted the presence of the following staff members: Major Ali Al Radimi, Major Hammoud Al Shehhi, Major Hamad Al Hendasi, Fatima Al Afifi, Reem Mohammed, Reeham Al Ahmed, Saeed Al Shehhi, and Fairouz Al Marzouqi, as well as others who are of no less competence in the sector.
