trainees from the Academy of Judicial Studies recently visited the
Forensic Evidence Department at the Directorate General of the Security
and Ports Affairs. This visit comes in line with the familiarization
visits program aimed to acquaint trainees with the police functions and
duties and enhance communication between police and governmental bodies.
Colonel
Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department met
with the trainees and briefed them on the various disciplines and work
mechanisms adopted at the department. He also acquainted them with the
latest developments achieved in terms of equipment and devices, as well
as the means to qualify national cadres through scientific missions, and
to gain experience in areas of forensic laboratories techniques.
The
delegation toured the forensic laboratories, accompanied by Major
Mariam Juma, General Coordinator at the department. The delegation was
also briefed on the ways of processing crime scenes, analyzing samples,
and making a forensic report.
