To
mark the UAE 42nd National Day, the Community Police Department at the
Abu Dhabi Police GHQ launched a campaign under the slogan “the National
Charter”, targeting young people and the various society segments.
Lt.
Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of Department of Community Police
indicated that this campaign aims to promote and preserve national
identity among young people and community members. It is also intended
to inculcate the values of love and loyalty to the homeland, and
highlight moral values that contribute to reinforce national identity.
Lt.
Colonel Bin Muhairom stressed the instrumental role of the youth in
society, being the real wealth of the nation and the pillars of its
future. “Young people promote community cohesion in the country,
endeavor to boost national unity and preserve the achievements of the
Union by shouldering their responsibilities towards society, and
diligently seeking to maintain the glory and prosperity of their
homeland,” added Lt. Colonel Bin Muhairom.
For his part, Captain
Majed Abdullah Al Tamimi, Chief of the Community Awareness Section
indicated that the campaign targets young people. “It is designated to
raise their awareness of the importance of adhering to the Emirati
values and behaviors, armed with knowledge and science to assume their
social responsibility towards the nation,” reiterated Al Tamimi.
Captain
Al Tamimi noted that the Community Police patrols have already
distributed to community members approximately 8000 brochures titled
“Patriotic Youth”, and about 4000 brochures titled “My Identity” to shed
light on the campaign’s objectives.
It is noteworthy that this
campaign complements the awareness-raising campaigns and activities
carried out by the Community Police Department, and embodies its
commitment to communicate with the various segments and sectors of the
community.
