A
delegation from the Ministry of Interior of the sister State of Qatar
recently visited the Forensic Evidence and Community Police Departments
at Abu Dhabi Police, to review the cutting-edge techniques and latest
methods used in the areas of police and security work.
Colonel
Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department and
the visiting delegation discussed ways of strengthening cooperation
between the two sides in areas of common interest.
Furthermore,
Lt. Colonel Mubarak Department Bin Muhairom, Head of the Community
Police met with the Qatari Ministry of Interior’s delegation which
included Lt. Colonel Ahmed Zayed Al Muhannadi from the North Security
Department; Sultan Mohammed Jaber Al Kaabi from Al Rayan Security
Department; Major Mubarak Hadi Mohammed Al Hajeri of Dukhan Security
Department; and Captain Mubarak Salem Al Kamara Al Marri, from the South
Security Department. During the three-day visit, both sides discussed
means to enhance bilateral cooperation, and the delegation was briefed
on the Community Police Department’s experience in the field of
partnership.
Head of the Community Police Department gave the
delegation members a detailed explanation on the community partnership
system implemented with the support of strategic partners from local and
governmental departments and community members. He also tackled the
successes achieved with partners, as well as the positive impact of this
partnership; emphasizing the importance of this community activity in
strengthening cohesion, amity and solidarity among all individuals and
segments of society.
The meeting was attended by Ali Saeed Al
Mansouri, Deputy Head of the Community Police Department; Major Bahyan
Al Ameri, Head of the Community Police Affairs Department; and Captain
Hamid Al Dir’i on behalf of the Geographical Partnerships Section Chief.
On
the second day of the visit, the delegation reviewed the Community
Police’s field experience in residential districts. The delegation
visited the Community Police Station at the Tourist Club, and was
briefed on its work mechanisms, and ways of dealing with community
members. It also reviewed the security deployment of the Community
Police’s foot patrols in residential areas, as well as the community
performance method, with a view to benefit community members and enhance
their confidence in the police staff.
On the same note, the
delegation also visited the Al Shabia Comprehensive Police Station and
reviewed the workflow and the Community Police position within the
police station.
The delegation members concluded their field
visit by visiting the Peripheral Areas Police Station, where they were
greeted by Major Abdullah Al Harthi, Head of the Peripheral Areas
Community Police Section. Major Al Harthi briefed the visiting
delegation on the work methods applied in the Section, and the means of
interacting with community members for the benefit of the residential
areas’ population, through coordination among all Community Police
branches in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
At the end of the visit,
Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Zayed Jawhar Al Muhannadi, Head of the
delegation, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Abu Dhabi
Police GHQ for the warm welcome and hospitality, lauding this
opportunity to leverage this community-based experience, considered as a
pioneer in the region. Furthermore, he wished success to all and
further purposeful visits between the two sister states.
