Managed Unveils New Appliance for Remotely Monitoring Enterprise ICT Infrastructure

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, July 2nd 2013 [ME NewsWire]

Ideal for Managed Service Providers, the MRM-100 Appliance Collects and Forwards SNMP, Log and Windows Events and Application Data for Complete ICT Infrastructure Monitoring - Securely and Cost Effectively

Managed FZ-LLC, a leader in innovative managed services and security solutions, today unveiled the new Managed Remote Monitor, MRM-100 remote monitoring and data collecting and forwarding appliance. The MRM-100 appliance is a small form factor appliance that is ideal for Managed Services Providers (MSP) that want to remotely monitor and manage their SMB and Enterprise clients’ multivendor and mixed Windows and Linux ICT infrastructure, without exposing them to potential vulnerabilities caused by remote log forwarding and opening too many ports on various networking elements.

“As an MSP, we remotely monitor our client’s Windows and Linux servers, desktops and LAN/WAN elements and to get data we have to forward information on all these devices to our  Network Operations Center – which in this day and age, generally makes the clients nervous,” said Mr. Sameer Hussain, CEO of Managed. “We needed to resolve these security concerns, while increasing our monitoring efficiency and reducing costs. The MRM-100 is the perfect solution to address the growing security requirement and simplification of the data collection for a large number of desktop, servers and networking devices simultaneously.”

Managed MRM-100 – Monitoring the Complete ICT Infrastructure

Built on a secure Linux platform, on an enterprise-proven Intel-based architecture, the MRM-100 connects to the client local area network and monitors SNMP alerts and performance data, collects and consolidates log file data from multiple Linux and Windows servers and network elements including firewalls, IDS, IPS etc. as well as desktops running Windows OS. With dual Gigabit-speed Ethernet interfaces; it is able to collect data rapidly to avoid dropouts, thereby providing all the relevant information via a single secure connection to the MSP Network Operation Center/Security Operations Center (NOC/SOC). The MSP only needs access to the MRM-100 thereby reducing the threat perception that comes from exposing the client IT infrastructure over the WAN. The MRM-100 data is fed directly to the NOC/SOC SNMP Network Manager and Log Manager for the MSP to get a full picture on the status of the client’s ICT infrastructure. The MRM-100 also keeps a running archive of all collected and forwarded data on the appliance itself which helps in ensuring the data availability for forensic analysis at a later date.

Mr. Sameer concluded, “The MRM-100 provides a complete vendor independent solution for MSPs. They can choose to monitor a larger number of multivendor and mixed OS devices – which will increase their revenue streams and at the same time reduce client risk. We have deployed the MRM-100 appliance in our own client’s networks and we are very pleased with the results.”

Availability

The Managed MRM-100 appliance is available in two models: the MRM-100/8 and MRM-100/16 based on the memory in the system. Pricing is available on request. Customers interested in learning more about the MRM-100 product line can contact Managed FZ-LLC at www.managedservices.me.
