The
Emergency and Public Safety Department, the Central Operations
Directorate General at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ obtained a membership
certificate in the International Maritime Rescue Federation.
Major
General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations
stressed that obtaining this membership reflects the high standard
attained by the various task forces operating at the Emergency and
Public Safety Department. Moreover, he pointed out that the department’s
surface water body action team was granted membership at the
Federation after meeting the water bodies classification requirements;
and undergoing a set of national and international courses; as well as
field participations in water bodies rescue operations within and
outside the State.
For his part, Lt. Colonel Muhammed Ibrahim Al
Ameri, Head of the Public Safety and Emergency Department lauded the
department’s accession to the International Maritime Rescue Federation.
Moreover, he underscored the importance of this membership in sharing
experiences and information on water bodies, and implementing joint
exercises to raise the efficiency of the national task forces.
