ADP F7 Department Obtains Environmental - Health & Safety Standards Certifications

The F7 Department at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ obtained the Environmental - Health & Safety Standards  ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. This initiative is in pursuance of the environment, health and occupational safety system project plan, which is applied by the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and is part of the legislative framework for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The project focuses on spreading the environment, health and occupational safety culture and educating Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s staff members on the importance of the environment and the need to comply with health and safety standards.
Colonel Mubarak Abdullah Al Muhairi, Head of F7 Department, recently received at his office the two certifications; stressing the keenness to embody the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy in enhancing and spreading the concept of environment, providing services in a safe and environmentally-responsible manner, and ensuring health and safety.
Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters noted that implementing the environmental management system and the occupational health and safety management systems is in pursuance of the  Abu Dhabi Government’s requirements, which stipulate the need to implement environment, sustainability, occupational health and safety systems in a way that reflects the police responsibility and attention to environment and sustainability.
Moreover, Colonel Al Shuaibi indicated that the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ is fully committed to delivering its services in a safe and environmentally-responsible manner. “It also strives to ensure the health, safety and welfare of its employees and customers, reduce the negative impacts of its operations on the environment. It also endeavors to be a trendsetter in implementing the best sustainable environmental practices and carrying out its operations responsibility, consistent with its vision and in accordance with environment, occupational health and safety laws,” he continued.
Colonel Al Shuaibi also emphasized the keenness to spread the policy and objectives of the Abu Dhabi Police among all employees, clients, partners, customers and community members. It also aims at complying with the guiding principles on environment, health and safety in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as the management of environment, health and safety-related incidents and reporting them to competent authorities after checking them internally. 
Adding further, he pointed out that the Strategy and Performance Development Department of Abu Dhabi Police identifies the measurable goals and objectives for the environment, occupational health and safety standards, in line with the Government’s targets. “The department integrates the best methods to identify and reduce the risks in all aspects of environment, health and safety; establishes biodiversity conservation considerations; integrates environmental systems into the decision-making process and employees’ performance development with respect to the environment, occupational health and safety; and reports it in order to develop, strengthen and improve performance,” he noted.
It is worth mentioning that the Strategy and Performance Development Department at Abu Dhabi Police had concluded a series of training courses aimed at qualifying 24 of its departments to obtain the two certificates, in pursuance of the environment, health and occupational safety system project plan, which is part of the legislative framework for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. The project focuses on spreading the environment, health and occupational safety culture and educating Abu Dhabi Police GHQ’s staff members on the importance of the environment and the need to comply with health and safety standards.
The project’s program includes qualifying and granting the two certificates to as many as 30 departments at the police general headquarters in the first phase of the initiative, which was launched in January 2013.
