The
Criminal Investigation Department carried out a successful mock drill
to extinguish a fire that broke out at its building. Rescue teams
evacuated the CID staff and put out the fire in less than six minutes.
Colonel
Ibrahim Sultan Al Zaabi, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation
Department at the Abu Dhabi Police indicated that the drill comes in
line with the commitment to implement the Environmental Health and.
Safety Management System at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
Al
Zaabi added: “Such drills aim to assess the readiness and preparedness
of police teams in dealing with such incidents; and embody the MoI’s
strategy to protect government buildings from fire hazards”.
Moreover,
Al Zaabi indicated that the drills aim to raise the efficiency of
safety and emergency teams; as well as the level of readiness of staff
members that operate these vital agencies, in dealing with emergencies
they may encounter.
At the end of the drill, the
various entities held a meeting to assess the procedures that have been
implemented, in order to reach the highest levels.
