Major General Al Nuaimi: There is a need to identify and spread best practices across sectors



 Ministry of Interior organizes the first annual forum on Specialized Coordinating Committees

The first annual forum on Specialized Coordinating Committees at the Ministry of Interior, which is organized by the Department of High Committees, discussed today the committees’ role to support upgrading police and service work. The meeting was held in the Criminal Evidence Department’s conference room at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters in the presence of Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Major General Al Nuaimi stressed the importance of the coordinating committees’ role in the application of various international standards with regard to field work. The coordinating committees include representatives from specialized sectors across all emirates.

He reiterated the need to identify the ministry’s best practices and circulate these practices to all sectors and departments.

The participants in the forum confirmed the importance of the results achieved by the coordinating committees in the development of police and service work. Major Gen. Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs-Dubai and President of the Coordinating Committee for Residency Affairs, praised the support of Major General Nasser Lakhrebani and the motivation he extended to all coordinating committees’ chairmen and members. He explained that the committees’ work will lead to more development in various sectors of the Ministry of Interior.

Brigadier General Amir Mohammad Al Muhairi, Deputy Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee for overall key centers, pointed out that the ideas put forward in the forum reflect the committees’ developmental efforts; these efforts are in line with the senior leadership’s directives and are a result of the attention it gives to these committees.

Colonel Suleiman Mohammed, Chief of Al Rams section at the Ras Al Khaimah Police General Headquarters and the Border Centers Coordinating Committee Chairman, said that the forum illustrates the planning pursued by the senior leadership in establishing the strategy of the coordinating committees’ policy, noting that it was able to realize further achievements and proposals. The committees put this success into action; these accomplishments are among the developmental efforts for security and police work to provide better public services.

Colonel Majid Salem Al Nuaimi, Head of the Operations Department at the Ajman Police General Headquarters and Chairman of the Operation Rooms Coordinating Committee, said that the forum has achieved the desired objectives in the development of the coordinating committees’ work in the next phase.

He added that these committees are always working to make suggestions and recommendations that serve the pursuit of excellence, which has become a specific characteristic of the Ministry of Interior and the police in the UAE.

Lt. Colonel Hamad Al Nuaimi, Acting Director of the High Commissions Department at the Strategy and Performance Development General Directorate at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, gave a comprehensive presentation on the role of coordinating committees in the Ministry of Interior and the criteria for evaluating them.
