Among the Guests of the President of UAE
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, July 24th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
The
Police College organized a religious lecture on humanitarian and
benevolent work during Ramadan, which was delivered by Professor Dr.
Mohammed Ibrahim El Hefnawi, Professor and Head of the Jurisprudence
Department at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the University of Tanta;
he is one of the guests of the President of the UAE. The lecture was
held at the Police College Mosque.
El Hefnawi stressed the
importance of humanitarian work, good deeds and charity during this holy
month; he recited verses from the Quran and the Prophet's sayings
(Ahadith) emphasizing the importance of charity.
Moreover, he
noted that Muslims must support their fellow Muslim brothers, inspect
their situation and needs. “Fulfilling the needs of people reduces the
evils that may surround you, and relieves the plight of distress on the
day of resurrection,” pointed out El Hefnawi.
He stressed the
importance of work, whether by collaborating with feeding programs,
providing clothes, sponsoring an orphan, or participating in a charity
project; for Allah rewards good deeds. He ended his lecture by a story
narrated in Sahih Muslim by Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him:
the Messenger of Allah peace be upon him said: “Whoever relieves the
suffering of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his suffering
on the day of resurrection, whoever helps his brother in this world,
Allah will help him in the world and the hereafter, whoever comforts a
fellow Muslim, Allah will comfort him in the world and the hereafter,
Allah helps whoever helps his brother, whoever seeks knowledge Allah
will lead him to paradise, People who gather in one of Allah’s houses,
reciting and studying the Quran, peace and mercy will be with them, the
angels will surround them and they will be named people of God”.
Dr.
El Hefnawi thanked the Police College Department for the effort they
exert to graduate police officers able to maintain the security of the
UAE and reassuring all residents of this nation, calling God to
perpetuate the security and safety.
