Lufthansa customers flying from the Middle East to Europe are being offered five-fold mileage and a 10% reduction on their purchases when they visit one of the Collection of nine Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages this summer.
The Collection of Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages by Value Retail is running a promotion on Lufthansa luggage tags, offering Lufthansa customers to qualify for five mileage points for every euro/pound they spend at any of boutiques and restaurants in the nine Villages. They will also receive a VIP Card, which will entitle then to a 10% reduction in participating boutiques.
To receive their VIP Card and to qualify for five-fold mileage, Lufthansa customers flying from the Middle East will need to show their luggage tag at the Villages’ Welcome or Tourist Information Centres.
The promotion will be on Lufthansa luggage tags from the following destinations: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Doha, Riyadh and Jeddah and will be running in the Villages until 31 August 2013. As Desirée Bollier, Chief Executive of Value Retail, explains, it is expected to be a popular offer; “We know that our Middle Eastern customers love shopping at the Villages and regard them as a must-stop tourism destination during their holiday. Coupled with that, we get our largest amount of visitors from the Middle East in the summer, so we expect a lot of our valued customers as well as new Middle Eastern customers to the Villages to be taking advantage of this offer”.
According to tax refunded sales data, in the first quarter of this year Middle Eastern visitors spent an average of €302 per transaction during their visits to the Villages.
The nine Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages are located within an hour or less of major European cities including London, Paris, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, Dublin, Bologna, Antwerp, Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich. They offer an entire range of hospitality services including Tourist Information Centres, multilingual hosts, VIP Lounges, personal shoppers, ‘shop and drop’ hands-free shopping and a chauffeur service.
The travel trade is also being encouraged to bring Middle Eastern clients to the Villages this summer with, on average, 10% commission on the net price on Chic Outlet Shopping® products and packages. The new online booking platform, Chic Travel Portal, enables the travel trade and MICE market to create and purchase bespoke travel itineraries featuring local partners as well as Chic Outlet Shopping® products. Basic packages are available across the Collection from just €44 and include return transport from the nearest city centre on the Shopping Express™, the luxury coach service, a Gift Card, a VIP Card and lunch in one of the Village’s restaurants.
