ADP issues certificate of good conduct via smart phones

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Wednesday, July 3rd 2013 [ME NewsWire]

The Abu Dhabi Police announced that it is now possible for both citizens and residents to send a request for a Criminal Status Certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct) via smart phones. In line with the vision of Abu Dhabi Police to implement the smart government concept and provide its services via phones, applicants can obtain this certificate with ease and seamlessness.

Brigadier Dr. Saif Bou Dhfeera Al Ameri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs, at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, said: “Providing this service is part of the smart government trend to recognize and fulfill the needs of people around-the-clock. It is also a part of the strategy of Abu Dhabi Police to implement this concept. We provide fast services to citizens and residents by simplifying the procedures through which they can obtain the certificate after their data are checked across our criminal systems. It is a time-and-effort-saving method that improves the quality of services provided by the police institution.”

He also noted: “In the future, and in order to improve the quality of our services, fees of the Certificate of Good Conduct will be deducted from the phone credit of the applicant.”

“Issuing this certificate receives great attention from the department, whose staff is working with high efficiency to meet the requests of applicants as fast as possible. Our employees are working to help applicants have their certificate-related transactions at other entities processed,” he added.

Expert Captain Sultan Al Tunaiji, Chief of Fingerprint Section, explained the steps to make a request via the phone as follows: “Dial *152#; select Arabic or English; choose ‘Criminal Status Search;’ enter national ID number; and press ‘send.’ Then the unified number will appear; send it; then the name of the entity requesting the certificate will appear; send this; and finally, the request will be received at the Fingerprint Section. Once the data is received, it will be processed and the applicant will receive an SMS stating that the application has been received and is under process.”

He added: “The employee will then continue steps of issuing the certificate after checking the fingerprint across civil and criminal systems and the database of the Emirates Identity Authority. In case of approval, the certificate will be printed and the applicant will be informed via SMS to go to the nearest police center to receive it after paying the applicable fees.”

Expert Captain Ismail Abdullah Al Karbi said: “Checking the applicant’s data and fingerprint is completed as fast as possible once we receive the application through the specialized e-system. Once data are matched and the security check is run, the certificate is issued.”
