Under
the patronage of His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Haj Al Maidoor,
Director General of Dubai Health Authority, MCI with the support of
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) will be organizing the 4th UAE Cancer
Congress this Thursday. Over 750 healthcare professionals from various
countries around the world will be participating during this three day
conference at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A
medical exhibition will be held alongside the congress with more than 23
international companies presenting their latest findings in the field
of cancer.
Dr. Shaheenah Dawood, President of the Conference and
Consultant Medical Oncologist, Medical Oncology department of Dubai
Hospital sheds light on the importance of this event, stressing on the
observed increasing incidence of all stages of cancer across the globe
with its associated morbidity and mortality.
The UAE Cancer
Congress will bring together a number of specialists in the field of
cancer, providing an ideal platform for delegates to network and
exchange knowledge and experience in order to promote the principle of
multidisciplinary care of cancer patients and to encourage the practice
of evidence based medicine in order to achieve the highest standard of
care in the field of oncology. The congress will include educational
lectures as well as an Head & Neck Master Course and workshops on
cancer nutrition, oncology nursing and breast surgical oncology. Dr

(ISI lowpass) and assembly of Indian Oncology (ISO) for with the aim of
improving growth through cooperation, and reaching professionals
working in the field in the region and the world. The Head and Neck
Master Course for the second year will be held with the participation of
a number of associations such as the Korean Society of Thyroid-Head and
Neck Surgery and the Indian Cooperative Oncology Networking and the
Pakistani association, Shaukat Khanum Cancer Center. There will also be
special sessions for nutrition for patients suffering from cancer”, she
added.
The Oncology Nursing Society, US will also be running a
workshop for the 2nd year in a row and will focus on providing the
necessary knowledge to improve patient care skills. The sessions will
also address the role of nurses specializing in the field of oncology in
the application of best practices and patient care to ensure the
highest quality of treatment.
