Crime Prevention Council of the Capital Police Discusses Its Work Mechanisms and Partnerships

The Crime Prevention Council of the Capital Police Directorate discussed its mechanisms and ways to implement its tasks. It also shed light on how to accomplish this through cooperation with other entities, and how to make this cooperation contribute to the success made thus far in security and stability.
Commenting on the discussions, Brigadier Maktoum Al Sharifi, Director of the Capital Police Directorate and Head of the Capital’s Crime Prevention Council said: “Expanding the participation of governmental institutions and entities in the council promotes the collective responsibility in countering crimes.” He noted the initiatives implemented by the council including the cooperation with the transport department in raising the security awareness of the 503 employees of the Mawaqif division. He further stressed that the police leadership is providing the necessary resources to implement these initiatives and carry out these efforts.
The council, which includes representatives of several governmental institutions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, held its second session under the chairmanship of Colonel Rashid Mubarak Al Mesmari, Deputy Director of the Capital Police Directorate. The meeting aimed to promote cooperation and partnerships between the Abu Dhabi Police and concerned entities. The attendees made suggestions and included them in the agenda and the council’s objectives.
The colonel said that the Crime Prevention Council of the Capital Police Directorate is an integral part of the Abu Dhabi Police ecosystem for crime prevention, mentioning that the police’s goal is to make the UAE a country with one of the lowest crime rates in the world.
He added that external partners were identified based on the vision and mission of the Crime Prevention Council, and in line with its wish to encourage society to contribute actively and take responsibility towards the issues of security within the community. He called upon society to take the initiative and positively participate in the fields of security and prevention. He also encouraged other governmental institutes and entities to facilitate their role in this regard.
