Abu Dhabi Traffic Sets Time Schedule for Customer Service Centers

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, July 7th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

The Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police has determined the time schedule for the customer service centers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and the Western Region during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The new time schedule meets the customers’ needs in line with the spiritual meanings of the Holy Month.

Colonel Ahmed Abdullah Al Shehhi, Chief of the Support Services Section and Director of the Customer Service Center at the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at the Abu Dhabi Police, said: “During the Holy Month, customer service centers in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain will be open from 8:00 am until 6:00 pm, while centers in the Western Region will open at 9:00 am and close at 2:00 pm.”

Within the framework of the “Your Safety” campaign, Al Shehhi called upon motorists to benefit from the spiritual meanings of the Holy Month and pay attention to the rights of other people who share the road. He urged the public not to park their vehicles haphazardly during the Taraweeh Prayers and to avoid blocking entrances or other vehicles by parking directly behind them. He also urged community members to follow the instructions of traffic policemen, especially in front of malls and crowded commercial areas. He asked the public to choose a suitable time to shop in order to avoid traffic congestion.

Al Shehhi also stressed the importance of following traffic laws and regulations during the Holy Month, reducing speed before Sunset Prayer, refraining from running red lights, paying attention while driving, using seat belt, refraining from using mobile phones while driving, maintaining sufficient distance between vehicles, and remaining vigilant on the roads to avoid any unexpected occurrences.

The Police Operations Department at the Abu Dhabi Police launched a Ramadan awareness campaign under the slogan “Your Safety.” The campaign, which is executed by the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, completes the regular awareness campaigns launched by Abu Dhabi Police, within its preparations for Ramadan and Eid. It also falls under the Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts to provide comfort and safety to public.

The campaign includes a number of initiatives containing humanitarian and spiritual programs and activities carried out by different service departments at the Ministry of Interior, in order to experience the month of fasting comfortably by alleviating traffic risks and congestion, and promoting safety and community prevention aspects.
