The
General Directorate of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police General
Headquarters has identified continuous improvement opportunities for its
various sections and branches, during a workshop recently organized by
the "Excellence Laboratory". It has also discussed the "Radar 999"
assessment model, which focused on following-up the model criteria
enablers and related results.
29 officers and non-commissioned
officers participated in the three-day workshop, as per the
directorate's plan to evaluate the quarterly performance to achieve
goals and enhance competition among employees in operations development.
Lt.
Colonel Ali Muftah Al Iryani, Chief of Central Operations Section at
the Operations Department, explained that the workshop examined
creativity and innovation as the basic standard to motivate participants
to submit creative ideas, such as the self-evaluation model for the
“Excellence Laboratory” and the quality improvement plan.
For his
part, Major Issa Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Strategic Planning Branch
Manager, pointed out that the workshop’s concept was developed as per
the European Institutional Excellence Model. It falls within the
internal improvement plan for the assessment tools adopted by the
Excellence Laboratory, which was established as an interactive center to
manage the strategic planning, excellence and quality requirements.
Major
Musallam Nasser Al Kathiri, Chief of the Support Services Section,
reported that the response group, designed as one of the Excellence
Laboratory tools, reflects the link between Operations Rooms’
administrative processes and major outputs, as well as the efficiency of
operational cooperation with police administrations and strategic
partners.
It is worth mentioning that the Excellence Laboratory
is responsible for monitoring the performance of the operations rooms
and monitoring the implementation requirements. It is also responsible
for organizing brainstorming sessions to help improve staff members’
performance and the quality of services offered to the people.
