“ADWEA” Inspect the Police’s Methods of Quality Assurance



Transforming Cooperation into Initiatives in Order to Achieve the Government’s Strategy

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Tuesday, December 24th 2013 [ME NewsWire]

A delegation from the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority, ADWEA, was introduced to the procedures and activities of the Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. The delegation examined the department’s efforts of applying international standards to quality assurance and the development of overall performance. The members also examined Abu Dhabi Police’s efforts of applying the best international practices to police work.

A delegation, supervised by Mohamed Salem Obeid Al Dhaheri, Director of the Department of Planning and Development at the Authority, visited the Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police and met with Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters. Al Shuaibi stressed the importance of collaboration among the institutions and local departments and urged them to exchange knowledge and foster partnerships that will help the Abu Dhabi Government achieve its ambitions.

This visit reinforces the partnership between Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and ADWEA. It also aims to introduce the points of common interest and cooperation opportunities, and helps transform them into initiatives and joint projects, capable of achieving the strategies set forth by the Abu Dhabi Government. The visit also represents the opportunity to define the contact points for both authorities, which helps them exchange information and spread knowledge.

The Director of Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters elaborated on the process of modification and development that started in 2003, with the launch of the first strategy and the many developments that followed. He also shed light on the organizational structure of the police GHQ, the management structure of the Strategy and Performance Development Department, the various missions and duties, and the efforts of work teams in applying international standards of quality assurance to enhance overall performance.

Major Nasser Al Nuaimi, Chief of Strategic Development Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, gave a presentation about the essential activities that the department is conducting. For his part, Captain Ali Sultan Al Nuaimi, Chief of the Performance Management Section, spoke about the evaluation mechanisms and the quarterly performance reviews that are conducted at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ various departments.

He also spoke about the attention that ADP is giving to the Comprehensive Development Project and achieving the higher leadership’s vision of establishing and building constructive initiatives, the most important of which is establishing the strategic plan for the Abu Dhabi Emirate, which is a plan that demonstrates joint efforts and cooperation among government departments and authorities in the Emirate.

Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri said that the meeting will be the first step to foster a partnership between Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and ADWEA. Furthermore, he praised the role that the police force plays in maintaining safety and security.
