Abu Dhabi Tourism Police Reunite a Family after a Ten Years Separation
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, December 22nd 2013 [ME NewsWire]
In a touching emotional scene, the Tourism Police Section at Abu Dhabi Police succeeded in reuniting an Arab family whose members were separated for ten years. The reunion happened within 24 hours of the police receiving a phone call from an Arab embassy in the UAE, saying that N.S, a 25 year old, and her sister, A.S, a 23 year old, had arrived to search for their relatives whom they did not have any contact with for ten years.
The two girls had failed to locate their relatives, which forced them to contact their embassy in order for them to help them in their search. The embassy, in turn, informed the Abu Dhabi Police.
Lieutenant Colonel Muzeed Al Otaibi, Chief of the Tourism Police Section at the Abu Dhabi Police, said: “The two girls entered the country on a tourist visa. They contacted the Tourism Police, which immediately formed a search team. The team contacted the girls to gather more information regarding their relatives. The search and investigation efforts resulted in identifying the names and location of the relatives. The police contacted the relatives, and the family reunion took place at the Tourism Police Section at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) building. It was a touching emotional scene that included hugs and tears of joy. The family extended their gratitude to the Tourism Police Section for their efforts. The girls were later taken to their relatives’ house.”
The Tourism Police Section, which was established in 2008, is representing the modern methods that are being implemented by the police. The department helps establish an excellent approach for tourism and security in Abu Dhabi City that helps maintain security by fighting crime and promoting safety among tourists. Because of all the developments in the tourism industry, security has become an even more important factor, as it helps growth within the industry. This type of industry in particular cannot grow without security and stability.
