The Ministry of Interior (MoI) honored the winning teams and participants of the eighth Sports Activities, organized by the Police Sports Association. The participating staff members from the sectors and departments of the MoI were honored in a grand ceremony held at the auditorium in the Ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services, awarded the Sports Excellence Shield to the sector of the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. Major General Al Khaili praised the support accorded by the police leadership to the Sports Activities, as well as the cooperation from the different sectors, their active participation in these events, and for their consistent participation which has had a great impact in achieving the sought-after goals and aspirations.
Major General Al Khaili also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), the main sponsor of the Sports Activities, and for their support for the various activities and events organized by the MoI.
The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services watched a documentary film with the attendees that highlighted the fair competition of the eighth Sports Activities. Following the documentary, the sectors participating in the sporting events and the entities hosting the sports competitions were honored by Major General Al Khaili alongside Colonel Abdul Malik Jani, Head of the Police Sports Association Department; and Colonel Adel Abdul Rahman Board Member of the Association. The top three teams and winners of all sports and cultural activities received trophies and commemorative gifts.
The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Resources and Support Services also handed the Excellence Shield to Colonel Hilal Eidha Al Mazroui, Head of Public Safety and Quick Intervention Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in recognition of the directorate’s triumph in achieving first place. The sector of the Civil Defense General Headquarters came in second place, followed by the sector of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, in third place.
On the same note, Major General Al Khaili also presented a commemorative gift to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in recognition of its efforts and support for the events. Ateeq Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Administrative Affairs Department received the award on behalf of ADNOC.
Towards the end of the ceremony, Colonel Abdul Malik Jani, Head of the Police Sports Association Department and Colonel Adel Abdul Rahman Board Member of the Association, presented Major General Al Khaili a commemorative gift from the Police Sports Association.
The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Mohammed Ghadir Al Ketbi, Deputy Director General of the Federal Criminal Police; Brigadier Ali Mohammed bin Darwish, Director General of Human Resources at the Ministry; and Colonel Hilal Eidha Al Mazroui. ADNOC was represented by Ateeq Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of the Administrative Affairs Department. A number of director generals, senior officers of the Ministry of Interior,officers, non-commissioned officers, constables and civilians also attended and were involved in the events.
