The Directorate General of Electronics and Telecommunications Services at the Ministry of Interior recently organized an educational workshop pertaining to information security. The two-day workshop was held at Al Ittihad Hall at the ministry’s headquarters, and was attended by a large number of officers and employees from the various departments at the Ministry of Interior.
The workshop comes in line with the Electronics and Telecommunications Services Directorate General’s commitment to spread security awareness among the ministry’s staff members, in accordance with international best standards in the information security industry.
During the workshop, Lieutenant Colonel Khalid Al Tai'e, Head of the Electronic Auditing and Information Security Department, reviewed the latest cutting-edge methods developed to curtail the increasing multiple threats to information security at the global level.
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Directorate General of Electronics and Telecommunications Services, has obtained the ISO 27001 certification for information security. This would enhance the confidence of external entities in the information security management system implemented at the Ministry of Interior and allow them to better take advantage of the electronic services provided by the ministry.
