ADP Intensifies Traffic Patrols near Abattoirs in Abu Dhabi
ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Monday, October 14th 2013 [ME NewsWire]
The Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate will be increasing traffic patrols near abattoirs as of tomorrow, the first days of Eid Al Adha, to organize traffic and prevent traffic congestion, so that community members can perform their sacrificial slaughtering rituals without any traffic obstruction.
Captain Abdullah Al Qubaissi, Traffic Control Branch Manager at Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, called on vehicle drivers to avoid parking their vehicles haphazardly near abattoirs, which could hinder traffic movement. He urged them to park their vehicles correctly, to allow entrance and exit from abattoirs after the sacrificial slaughter without any traffic obstruction. He also stressed the need to abide by the traffic police members’ instructions organizing traffic near abattoirs from sunrise until nightfall.
He said that the Abu Dhabi Police Traffic and Patrols Directorate, as part of the “Your Safety” campaign launched by Abu Dhabi Police to provide safety during Eid Al Adha, has increased traffic control around intersections and malls to ensure a smooth traffic flow at such places that witness a significant turnout during festivities.
He appealed to motorists to abide by traffic regulations and legal speed limits on inner and outer roads during Eid Al Adha; to leave safe distance between vehicles; avoid answering the phone while driving; stay alert to avoid any eventual surprises on the road; avoid running red light signal; and check their vehicles’ tires safety.
