Colonel Khamis Musbah Al Marar, Head of Ports and Airports Security Departments at Abu Dhabi Police attended the graduation ceremony of 2 courses at the Ports Security Institute. The courses included: a Security Detection and Inspection course using Computer-based Training Simulation (CBT) and a course on Airports Security Basics. The courses were attended by 42 participants and spanned over one week.
Colonel Al Marar noted that training police staff members embodies the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy aimed at qualifying its human cadre, according to international-best standards and practices; with a view to enhance the security and safety processes in the country.
“The training system at the Institute keeps pace with the latest developments by resorting to highly skilled international instructors, to upgrade the staff’s performance and competencies, so as to positively reflect on the quality of services provided to various society segments,” added Colonel Al Marar.
He also indicated that the Institute has endeavored to organize training courses to boost the abilities of police forces and staff members of other departments; notably staff members of government departments in the country’s aviation sector.
For his part, Colonel Matar Ahmed Al Muhairi, Director of the Institute, stated that a total of 42 participants graduated after completing the two courses. 17 participants attended the “Security Detection and Inspection course using Computer-based Training Simulation (CBT)”, and were acquainted with the various methods of operating the “High sky” unit; along with a number of inspection-related processes in airports.
“Another 25 participants from Abu Dhabi Airport Customs staff members received training to enhance their competencies in Airports Security Basics, notably; communicating with other airport entities and relevant authorities and departments. They were also trained on methods of inspection and detection of airports passengers and luggage,” he continued.
The graduation ceremony was attended by a number of officials from Abu Dhabi Airport Customs and the Ports and Airports Security Department.
