DUBAI CRUISE TERMINAL VOTED MIDDLE EAST’S LEADING CRUISE PORT FOR 4TH STRAIGHT YEAR


213,000 industry professionals participated in the voting process, according to World Travel Awards

Dubai Cruise Terminal, operated by global marine terminal operator DP World, and managed by Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM),has been voted the Middle East’s Leading Cruise Port for a fourth consecutive year at the World Travel Awards 2011.

The prestigious award was received on behalf of DP World by Tariq Bin Khalifa, Director, Account Management, DP World, UAE Region, at a gala red-carpet ceremony held at the Armani Hotel in Burj Khalifa on Monday (May 2). The event was attended by hundreds of top executives and professionals of the travel and leisure industry.

The recognition reaffirms Dubai Cruise Terminal’s undisputed position as the cruise hub of the region. It first won the award in 2008 and has since been consistently voted as the leader in its class in the Middle East by World Travel Awards. This year, 213,000 industry professionals participated in the voting process, according to the awards organisers.

Spread over 3,300 sq m at Port Rashid and with a capacity to handle two ocean-going cruise vessels simultaneously, Dubai Cruise Terminal has state-of-the-art facilities that have made it one of the most tourist-friendly ports of call.
