Business Wire Signs Partnership Agreement with International Paris Air Show
PARIS - Monday, May 30th 2011 [ME NewsWire]
(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Business Wire, world leader in news distribution for professionals, has signed a partnership agreement with the International Paris Air Show, the world’s biggest aerospace event. The show will take place at Paris-Le Bourget from June 20 to 23, 2011, for professional visitors, and from June 24 to 26 for the general public.
“Business Wire is pleased to be once again the official news distributor for the Paris Air Show. This prestigious event is the quintessential international show for all cutting-edge developments in the aerospace sector. Though the show already enjoys extensive international recognition, the partnership with Business Wire will bring the show and the companies and institutions taking part increased exposure to the international media”remarks Olivier Corneloup, Director of Business Wire France.
The partnership will enable the Paris Air Show to reinforce its communication activities through Business Wire’s networks and experience. It will mean that the show, organized every two years by the Groupement des Industries Françaises Aéronautiques et Spatiales (GIFAS), will also be more extensively promoted and have an improved information flow.
Last time it was held in 2009, the Paris Air Show attracted 2,000 exhibitors from 50 countries, 140,000 professional visitors, 200,000 visitors from the general public, and 3,000 journalists from all over the world. This remarkable success clearly demonstrates that it is still the key event for all manufacturers, subcontractors and other players in the industry.
The 2011 show will also differ in that the exhibitors’ press booths will be entirely digitalized. This service, too, will be provided by Business Wire. This is a minor revolution for the exhibitors, though a development that journalists and reporters are coming to appreciate more and more, and which has already become part of standard practice on the other side of the Atlantic.
According to Nicolas Tran, Marketing Director of the Paris Air Show, “ this development has two main aspects: on the one hand, it’s a working method that fits in with the new tools used by journalists and reporters, who have access via their smartphones to information from the exhibiting companies in formats that can be reused, and on the other hand, it’s a more environmentally responsible way of working, given the tons of paper that are usually distributed at the show. Naturally, as with any change, some time is needed to adapt, but I truly believe that Business Wire’s experience of providing this service in the United States is a firm guarantee for us.” He adds that: “we hope the partnership with Business Wire will contribute even more to the international reach of our show.”
