National Ambulance Prepared to Face Emergencies during Eid

To provide emergency medical services

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates - Sunday, July 27th 2014 [ME NewsWire]

The National Ambulance Company said that it is prepared for any emergency across the Northern Emirates during the Eid Al Fitr holiday. Medical personnel and ambulances are equipped with the tools and medical devices needed in order for the company to provide services to the public and reduce emergency response time.

Ahmed Al Hajeri, Deputy CEO at the National Ambulance Company, said, “We will receive emergency calls on 999 and 997, and each call to the National Ambulance operations room will be promptly handled through a case prioritizing system. We will then contact the nearest patrol using advanced map software and tracking systems.”

“We are offering our services to people across the Northern Emirates during the Eid vacation in order to provide the necessary attention and medical care needed to cope with emergency situations. With 24 locations across Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain equipped with ambulances, we can provide round-the-clock service. Our paramedics are qualified to deal with accidents related to injuries and other emergencies, such as blood pressure, diabetes, childbirth, burns, fractures, breathing problems, and any other serious case that requires emergency medical intervention,” Al Hajeri added.

“Our services cover the Northern Emirates through 24 primary locations that are distributed accordingly by the ‘subsite.’ The main locations are operation management centers that are fully equipped to provide pre-hospital medical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our operations are flexible, as we can quickly move our vehicles and medical teams from one area to another as needed, and as soon as possible,” Al Hajeri explained.

Furthermore, Al Hajeri pointed out, “Ambulance resources are managed by the National Ambulance’s central operations room in Abu Dhabi. We have a communications center equipped with the latest technologies, a smart system for tracking the movement of vehicles, and systems and support programs that ensure continued service in emergency situations. All of our services are based on the best international practices for medical decision making and case prioritizing.”

He added, “The center currently employs 35 operators that speak Arabic and English, and have the medical expertise that enables them to deal with emergency calls, prioritize cases and provide required services for each case. These employees inform the hospital before the ambulance arrives, so the hospital is prepared to provide the necessary treatment when the patient arrives.”

In order to have an accident-free Eid, Al Hajeri urged the public to avoid speeding, to drive carefully and to follow traffic laws for their safety and the safety of others. He also extended his deepest congratulations and blessings to all citizens and residents on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.
