Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector Celebrates Mother’s Day

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs attended the celebration organized by the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector on the occasion of Mother’s Day, marked on March 21st every year. The celebration comes as recognition of Her Highness, Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (Um Al-Emarat “Mother of the Emirates”), Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), the Supreme Chairperson of Family Development Foundation (FDF), and Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood. The event is an expression of gratitude for Her Highness’s dedication to support and care for women and the Emirati family. It is also recognition of her prominent stature and role in building a righteous family and in educating a generation capable of serving the homeland.

In his speech during the ceremony, Major General Al Khaili said: “We are extremely proud to honor Um Al-Emarat (‘Mother of the Emirates’) on this particular day, and to acknowledge her efforts in building and advancing the position of the nation in general, and especially Emirati women.” Major General Al Khaili also highlighted Her Highness’s leading role in empowering Emirati woman, supporting and promoting charitable and humanitarian work, as well as her efforts to safeguard the values of goodness and giving in the UAE through her initiatives that support Emirati women, and honor mothers and their sacrifices.

“Emirati mothers have contributed efficiently to position the UAE among the most prominent countries in the world, in terms of  progress and development by instilling patriotism and love for the country in the hearts of the nation’s sons and daughters and urging them to make sacrifices necessary to protect the homeland”, indicated Major General Al Khali. He also stressed the need to love and honor mothers throughout the year, not merely on mother’s day.

Major General Al Khaili said: “On behalf of  all staff members and female employees at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation for the "Mother of the Emirates”, who has set a towering example for  Emirati women.”

Major General Al Khaili lauded the efforts of female employees working in the sector, and their contribution to work and development. He also urged them to maintain the distinguished positions and preserve the prominent stature attained by the UAE. Moreover, he called upon them to pursue further achievements, and follow in the path of the Mother of the Emirates in terms of excellence, leadership and diligence.

The ceremony included a theatre presentation by students of Al Asayel School about mother’s love.  At the end of the ceremony, the Assistant Undersecretary distributed a certificate of appreciation and thanks to the working mother, with 20-year tenure.

Attending the ceremony were Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashidi, Director General of Naturalization; Colonel Salem Ali Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi; as well as heads of departments and a number of officers and female staff members from the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector.
