The
Ports Security Institute at the Ports and Airports Security Department,
the Directorate General of the Security and Ports Affairs at Abu Dhabi
Police celebrated the graduation of 46 participants after completing
three specialized courses spanning over one week. The courses included: a
Detection of Falsified Documents course; a course on Airports Security
Basics; and a Security Inspectors’ Training course using Computer-based
Training Simulation (CBT).
Chief of the Control, Inspection and
Follow-Up Section at the Ports and Airports Security Department of Abu
Dhabi Police, Colonel Mubarak Saeed Al Mansouri, attended the graduation
ceremony, along with Colonel Matar Ahmed Al Muhairi, Director of the
Institute; and a number of officials and officers from the Department.
Colonel
Al Mansouri noted that training police staff members embodies the Abu
Dhabi Police’s strategy aimed at qualifying its human cadre in all areas
of police work, according to international-best standards and
practices.“These courses are in pursuance with the Institute's pursuit
to develop the training system by resorting to competent and
experienced instructors, with a view to enhance the skills of the
graduates and promote their performance to stay abreast of the latest
developments taking place in all sectors of the State,” added Colonel Al
Mansouri.
Moreover, Al Mansouri noted that a total of 46
participants graduated after completing the three specialized courses.
Twelve staff members attended a course on combating document
falsification, and were trained on the various methods to validate the
authenticity of identification papers and other documents. 22
participants were acquainted with the various skills related to the
preventive measures and procedures related to airport security in the
Airports Security Basics course.
“Another 12 participants
attended the inspectors training course, and were acquainted with
inspection methods using computer-based training simulation. Such
courses are organized with a view to enhance staff members’
competencies, and enable them to perform their duties to the fullest, so
as to improve the level of services provided to customers,” continued
Colonel Al Mansouri.
At the end of the ceremony, the event’s
sponsor congratulated the graduates and handed them their certificates.
He also urged them to exert further efforts and dedication to serve the
homeland and maintain its gains.
